Workshop Review on Supporting Tactile Learners in Education – Thursday, 3rd July 2025

We recently attended a workshop led by Jackie and found the entire experience incredibly helpful, informative, and excellent value for money. The session struck a perfect balance between being informative and informal, which created a relaxed environment where we felt comfortable asking questions and engaging in meaningful discussions.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to connect with staff from other schools. It was refreshing and insightful to share ideas and hear how others approach similar challenges in their settings. These conversations added a lot of value to the day.

The venue was also spot on — easy access to parking made arrival stress-free, and the lunch provided was not only beautiful but more than enough for everyone.

The workshop content was well-structured, with plenty of time to explore the pros and cons of different equipment and discuss what might best suit the needs of individual children. We left with a wealth of practical knowledge and ideas that we’re excited to implement.

We would absolutely be interested in attending future workshops and highly recommend this one to others in the field.

Jaison Curtis - RNIB Technology For Life Volunteer

I have been a Technology Volunteer with RNIB for over five years. In October 2022, Jackie started work as my Volunteer Coordinator. She inherited the mess left after the long COVID period had made home visiting either not possible or undesirable. Between us we worked our way through the required visits. Some had been waiting nearly three years. Jackie is well known within the blind and low vision community. Both customers and business contacts have always had praise for her. In fact, I have never met anyone that said otherwise. Jackie is consistent and reliable in everything she undertakes. Whatever project you could want Jackie to tackle for you I am sure you will be really pleased with the outcome.
